Eckrich extends College Football Playoff deal

Meat products manufacturer Eckrich has renewed its sponsorship of the College Football Playoff, an annual postseason competition in the US collegiate American football system.

Eckrich will retain its position as the official smoked sausage and deli meat sponsor of the competition, and will run a marketing campaign throughout the 2017 college football season, culminating in the 2018 National Championship game.

Eckrich will continue to host its Road to the National Championship sweepstakes competition, which will give fans the chance to win $1m (€866,000) by making a 20-yard throw.

The throws will be made at major college football games, including the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship, which will be staged on January 8 at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Eckrich will promote the Road to the National Championship through experiential marketing, digital media, public relations and social media. Its products will also be sold at stadiums across the country as part of the agreement.

Eckrich first partnered with the competition in July 2016. This year’s College Football Playoff National Championship took place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and saw the Clemson Tigers defeat Alabama Crimson Tide 35-31.
