English Premiership rugby union team London Wasps has announced a sponsorship deal with packaging and recycling company DS Smith.
Under the long-term agreement, the details of which were undisclosed, DS Smith’s branding will appear on the back of Wasps’ playing shirts from Friday’s Premiership trip to face Newcastle Falcons.
Additionally, DS Smith will work alongside the London Wasps Community team on the new ‘Move 2 Improve’ initiative – a physical literacy programme designed to improve the movement skills of children, including those with special educational needs.
The scheme will involve members of the London Wasps Community team visiting schools to deliver curriculum-based and out-of-school-hours physical literacy lessons and tag rugby sessions.
Wasps are current eighth in the Premiership table, having won four and lost six of 10 league matches this season.
