Telecommunications company Digicel has secured a multi-year partnership with English Premier League team Manchester City and its affiliated Major League Soccer franchise New York City FC.
The partnership – terms for which were not disclosed – relates to the Caribbean, Central America and the South Pacific and is a first for either of the City Football Group-operated clubs in those regions.
Manchester City and New York City will work with Digicel to create extensive multimedia content across broadcast, digital and mobile, along with offering its customers community coaching and VIP tickets to matches at the Etihad Stadium and Yankee Stadium.
Digicel group director of marketing operations, Kieran Foley, said: “Digicel is delighted to be working with Manchester City and New York City FC, both clubs who enjoy an international following. This marks the next phase in our development marrying content and community programmes across all our markets in the Caribbean, Central America and the South Pacific as well as into our Diaspora communities from afar.”
