Italian sportswear manufacturer Diadora has renewed its partnership with the Commonwealth Games Australia governing body.
Diadora will serve as the official competition and training wear supplier of Team Australia for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which will be staged in the country’s Gold Coast region.
Diadora also supplied Australia’s competition and training wear during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Uniforms for Gold Coast 2018 will be locally conceptualised and designed by Diadora in collaboration with the CGA and Australian athletes.
Diadora is also working closely with the CGA and the Gold Coast 2018 organising committee to develop a polo shirt that is 50 per cent made of recycled plastic bottles. The innovative move aims to illustrate Australia’s commitment to delivering a sustainable Games.
Bill Tyson, managing director at Diadora Australia, said: “The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games is a wonderful opportunity for Diadora to showcase our capabilities, firstly with world-class products to meet our athletes' requirements and secondly through a range of supporter wear products for all Australians, to show their support for our team.”
