German financial services company Deutsche Bank has renewed its long-running partnership with the CHIO Aachen show jumping event for a further three years.
The new agreement will cover the 2017 to 2019 editions of the event. Deutsche Bank will continue to serve as CHIO Aachen’s main sponsor.
Deutsche Bank has sponsored CHIO Aachen since 1955, which represents its longest-running sports deal, and is a partner of its Dressage Grand Prix, which is staged at Aachen’s Deutsche Bank Stadion.
“CHIO Aachen has evolved into an important platform for the bank for encounters with clients and business partners,” Thorsten Strauß, Deutsche Bank’s global head of art, culture and sport, said.
“The continuation of our sponsorship also comes at the right point in time because we are currently making an even greater commitment to nurturing aspiring young riders through our Deutsche Bank Equestrian Sport Academy, which was initiated this year.”
Deutsche Bank’s academy supports 10 young dressage athletes each year, providing them with training support and travel arrangements for competitions.
CHIO Aachen is one of the most prestigious events on the equestrian circuit and forms part of the Grand Slam of Show Jumping alongside the CSIO Calgary event in Canada and the CHI Geneva event in Switzerland.
This year’s CHIO Aachen took place from July 8-17.
