Destination Dubai has been named as the new title sponsor of badminton’s World Superseries Finals under a four-year deal between the emirate of Dubai and the Badminton World Federation.
The sponsorship runs alongside an agreement that will see Dubai host the BWF’s end-of-season showpiece from 2014 to 2017.
Destination Dubai also acquires the title rights to the BWF’s world rankings system.
The Destination Dubai Rankings will be generated from points gathered across the 12 stages of the World Superseries, with the leading eight players and doubles pairings across the five traditional categories earning places in Dubai. Three rounds of the 2014 calendar have already been completed.
