Sports equipment manufacturer Head has agreed a deal to become an international partner of the Davis Cup, the flagship men’s team tournament of the International Tennis Federation.
Head struck the three-year deal, which will become effective on January 1 and run until the end of 2019, with the ITF.
As part of the agreement, Head will produce and sell a range of Davis Cup-branded tennis balls.
“As the Davis Cup is one of the best known brands in tennis, the Davis Cup ball is a great addition to our tennis ball product portfolio and a unique opportunity to grow the game and, ultimately, our ball business further,” Ottmar Barbian, executive vice-president at Head Racquetsports, said.
The 2016 Davis Cup continues tomorrow (Friday) with Great Britain facing Argentina and Croatia taking on France in the semi-finals. Great Britain, led by Andy Murray, will be looking to defend the title it won last year.
