Soft drinks and snack food producer PepsiCo has extended its partnership with North American Major League Baseball franchise the Chicago Cubs.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it was confirmed that the new agreement will come into effect from the 2016 season.
The company’s Pepsi brand will continue to serve as the official soft drink of the Cubs, with Pepsi and a selection of other PepsiCo drinks available to purchase inside the team’s Wrigley Field ballpark.
Pepsi will also acquire the naming rights to the ‘Batter’s Eye’ section of Wrigley Field, with Pepsi-branded signage to appear around the area and inside the main concourse.
The firm will run a special initiative that will give fans at Cubs home matches the opportunity to win tickets to sit in four reserved seats in the Batter’s Eye area. Supporters will also be able to win other prizes such as the chance to operate the main scoreboard at Wrigley Field, play catch in the outfield prior to matches and watch batting practice from the field.
