Cricket South Africa sees eye-to-eye with Spec-Savers

Cricket South Africa has announced a new partnership with optometrists group Spec-Savers.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Spec-Savers will become the official optical supplier to the governing body. The partnership commences with immediate effect and will see Spec-Savers initially have branding and exposure rights to various broadcast elements of the Decision Review System during national team games.

The partnership extends to domestic cricket where Spec-Savers will also receive exposure during all third umpire review decisions.

Spec-Savers chief executive Bryan Dowley said: “We have been looking for a home for our sponsorship since curtailing our support for Ironman SA and CSA has now provided us with the correct platform to allow our support to improve the game with better camera technology and reach the people who really count.”

The agreement was announced ahead of the start of Australia’s tour to South Africa, with the first Test commencing today in Centurion.
