The Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 cricket competition has signed a long-term extension to its partnership with rum brand El Dorado.
The five-year deal will run through to the end of the 2022 CPL season. Guyana-based El Dorado has sponsored the competition since its inception in 2013.
As the official spirit of the CPL, El Dorado will continue to launch a range of fan promotions. In 2016, in addition to supporting the Man of the Match awards, the best player celebrations were dubbed ‘El Dorado Celebrations’ in line with the brand’s status as official spirit of the CPL.
The new deal has been signed ahead of this year’s competition, which runs from August 8 to September 16
The CPL’s commercial director Jamie Stewart said: “El Dorado have been with Hero CPL since when it was just an idea on a page. They have played a huge role in making Hero CPL the ‘Biggest Party in Sport’ and it is an absolute pleasure to continue the relationship with the brand consistently voted the world’s best.”
In other news, the CPL has agreed a deal for Dixee to become the official biscuit of its 2018 campaign. As part of the agreement, fans will be given the chance to win match tickets, hampers and other prizes through Dixee’s Facebook page, radio promotions and in-store contests.
Last season, Dixee sponsored CPL teams the Trinbago Knight Riders, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
