UK bookmaker Coral has agreed a deal to become the title sponsor of the UK Championship snooker tournament.
Under the agreement, the 2014 edition of the tournament will be known as the Coral UK Championship. Coral previously served as title sponsor of the event between 1978 and 1985.
Simon Clare, PR director at Coral, said: “A lot has changed in the world of snooker and the betting industry over the last 30 years, but the UK Championship and Coral are still as pre-eminent as they were in 1978.”
The 2014 Coral UK Championship will take place at the York Barbican from November 25 until December 7. The tournament will feature 128 players and a top prize of £150,000 (€188,445/$234,735).
