World Snooker has agreed a deal with Coral for the betting company to title sponsor its new Home Nations series.
Coral will title sponsor the three remaining events of the 2016-17 series – the Northern Ireland Open, Scottish Open and Welsh Open. The series itself will also be known as the Coral Home Nations Series.
Coral also sponsored the series’ opening event, the English Open, which took place in Manchester from October 10-16 and was won by Liang Wenbo of China.
Each event of the inaugural series features 128 players battling for individual top prizes of £70,000 (€77,500/$86,000). Should Liang (pictured) go on to win the three remaining events, he will also net a £1m bonus.
The series continues with the Northern Ireland Open at the Titanic Exhibition Centre in Belfast from November 14-20, before Glasgow’s Emirates Arena stages the Scottish Open from December 12-18. The series concludes with the Welsh Open, which will be held at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena from February 13-19.
