Continental expands women’s football tie-up

Tyre manufacturer Continental has extended its partnership with the English Football Association to become an exclusive partner for its new commercial programme for the women’s game.

The initiative, spanning 2014-18, includes title sponsorship of the FA Women’s Super League Continental Cup, designation as the official tyre partner of the FA WSL and branding opportunities at televised fixtures.

In addition, Continental will continue to support the FA Girls’ Football Festivals grassroots campaign and become an official supporting partner of the St George’s Park national football centre in Burton.

Continental initially partnered with the FA WSL during its first season in 2011 and the eight-team competition will expand to 18 clubs from 2014, with teams competing across FAWSL1 and FAWSL2.
