WNBA basketball team Connecticut Sun has signed a multi-year deal to make locally based telecommunications company Frontier Communications its marquee sponsor.
Under the deal, the terms for which were not disclosed, Frontier’s logo will feature on the front of Connecticut Sun’s home and away jerseys.
The Frontier brand will feature on the basketball stanchions at each end of the court and on LED, rotational and courtside signage at all Connecticut Sun home games at Mohegan Sun Arena, along with on Sun television broadcasts, official merchandise and the team website.
Frontier is the first marquee sponsor in Connecticut Sun history. The WNBA’s 12 teams are included in a league-wide jersey sponsorship agreement with pre-paid wireless services company Boost Mobile.
Last season Washington, Indiana, Tulsa, Minnesota, San Antonio and Phoenix were the only teams with an individual sponsor to feature alongside Boost. Connecticut is the latest team to join their number after Chicago Sky partnered with steel distributor Magellan in May.
