Chicago Cubs launch American Airlines partnership

American Airlines has agreed a long-term deal with Chicago Cubs to become a legacy partner of the redevelopment project for the Major League Baseball team’s Wrigley Field home.

Terms for the agreement, which was brokered by the Cubs-affiliated W Partners agency, were not disclosed.

The main activation of the deal will come in the 2017 MLB season when the premium space behind home plate at Wrigley Field will take on naming sponsorship from American Airlines.

Additionally, it will be the title partner of the American Airlines Executive Conference Center in the office development on the new plaza adjacent to Wrigley Field.

Branding space near the batting circle at Wrigley Field and rotation signage during spring training at the Cubs’ Sloan Park facility is also included in the American Airlines deal. The firm will host a number of promotional activities, including player and mascot appearances, giveaways and Cubs Road Trip sweepstakes.

American Airlines becomes the seventh legacy partner of Chicago Cubs alongside Anheuser-Busch, ATI Physical Therapy, Sloan Valve Company, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Under Armour and Wintrust.
