Russian UCI WorldTour cycling outfit Team Katusha has announced a deal to make Spanish caviar producer Caviar de Riofrio one of its main sponsors.
Under the deal, the terms of which were not disclosed, Caviar de Riofrio will supply its ecologically produced sturgeon caviar to Katusha’s riders as part of the squad’s nutritional programme.
Caviar de Riofrio began providing Katusha’s riders with its caviar at a recent training camp in Calpe, Spain.
Team Katusha general manager Viacheslav Ekimov said: “For us the collaboration with the Caviar de Riofrio Company first of all is an opportunity to significantly improve our rider’s diets during the racing periods, especially during their participation in the Grand Tours. We all know about the nutritional value of a product like caviar, especially when we speak about such a high quality product as Caviar de Riofrio. The collaboration with a company like Caviar de Riofrio is a kind of debut for the world of cycling and I am happy that Team Katusha has the honour to be a pioneer in this.”
Alongside Caviar de Riofrio, Team Katusha’s roster of main sponsors features Itera, Gazprom, Rostec, Canyon and OW.
