Castelli returns to back Giro d’Italia

Italian sportswear firm Castelli has reached an agreement to supply kit for the next four editions of the Giro d’Italia cycling event.

Castelli will produce jerseys worn by all four main classification leaders of the event from 2018 to 2021.

Castelli will supply the Maglia Rosa jersey for the general classification leader; the Maglia Ciclamino, sprinter classification leader; Maglia Azzurra, King of the Mountains classification leader; and Maglia Bianca, young rider general classification leader.

Castelli also supplied kit for the Giro during the 1980s and 1990s. The company agreed the new deal with race organiser RCS Sport.

Steve Smith, Castelli brand manager, said: “For an Italian company being partner of RCS Sport in ‘the toughest race in the world’s most beautiful place’ can only be a great joy. This is a great occasion to showcase an Italian company that’s synonymous with excellence in cycling clothing.”
