US beer brand Bud Light has become an official beer partner of England’s men’s national football team, building on an existing agreement between the English Football Association and Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev.
In February, AB InBev’s Budweiser brand was unveiled as the official beer partner of the men’s national team and took over the role from Danish brand Carlsberg following the conclusion of the recent Fifa World Cup in Russia.
Budweiser will now share rights with fellow AB InBev brand Bud Light. Bud Light will receive promotion during England matches at London’s Wembley Stadium, while its products will be sold in Club Wembley bars.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed but a spokesperson told the just-drinks.com website that the two parties have signed a “significant, long-term partnership”.
