UK pay-television broadcaster BT Sport has reached an agreement to become an official partner of English Premier League football club Arsenal.
The deal allows BT Sport to promote its live football offering – which includes matches from the Premier League, the Scottish Professional Football League, Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga – through Arsenal’s digital channels in the UK and Ireland.
Additionally, BT will have access to Arsenal’s first team players and manager Arsene Wenger in order to create exclusive content and bolster its Premier League coverage.
Arsenal and BT Sport have an established relationship stemming from England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain serving as one of the broadcaster’s “key athletes” during its launch campaign earlier this year. The length of the new partnership was not disclosed.
BT Sport also has an agreement in place with Arsenal’s Premier League counterpart Manchester City – a three-year deal along similar lines to its latest tie-up but with additional naming rights and a broadcasting presence at City’s pre-match entertainment area City Square.
