Basketball Australia has signed up packaging and warehouse supplies provider Signet as a new major partner of the men’s national team ahead of its Fiba World Cup campaign.
The ‘Boomers’ have been drawn alongside Canada, Senegal and Lithuania in Group H at the World Cup, which takes place in China from August 31 to September 15.
The Signet logo will be displayed on the team’s shorts, with the deal extending through to the 2020 summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Signet brand ambassadors Joe Ingles and Matthew Dellavedova, who play in the NBA for the Utah Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers, respectively, will also take fans behind the scenes of their national team through Signet-backed video content.
Signet chief executive Jack Winson said: “Our customers are everyday Aussies and businesses who might be underdogs within their industry but are looking to become over-achievers. The Boomers are just that too, underdogs from humble beginnings that are taking it to the world’s best with the expectation of nothing less than the top result.”
