Aintree Racecourse has reached a three-year deal with Betfred to make the UK bookmaker the official betting partner of its showpiece Grand National Festival.
Under the agreement, Betfred takes sponsorship of a race on each of the festival’s three days – the Betfred Bowl Steeple Chase on Grand Opening Day, the Betfred Mobile Mildmay Novices’ Steeple Chase on Ladies Day and the Betfred TV Handicap Steeple Chase on Grand National Day.
Betfred boasts a considerable presence across horse racing and sponsored more than 600 races last year, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Group One Sprint Cup at Haydock Park Racecourse.
The 2014 Grand National Festival takes place next month, on April 3-5, and features the 167th running of the storied Grand National steeple chase.
In August last year, alcoholic ginger beer brand Crabbies sealed a three-year agreement to replace John Smith’s as the Grand National Festival’s title sponsor.
