Online betting exchange Betdaq has renewed its sponsorship of the Punchestown Festival horse-racing event, while bookmaker Coral has extended its backing of the Coral-Eclipse race at Sandown Park.
Betdaq’s new one-year deal with the Punchestown Festival was signed as the 2018 event got underway yesterday (Tuesday) in County Kildare, Ireland.
Betdaq serves as a main sponsor of the 2018 Festival and will raise money for injured Irish jockeys as it launches the next stage of its #ChangingForTheBettor campaign.
Betdaq is the title sponsor of the Festival’s Betdaq 2% Commission Champion Hurdle event. The company will also bring its gold saddle cloth initiative to this Friday’s race, with horse number two to wear the cloth and earn its groom a bonus prize of £2,000 (€2,300/$2,800) should it go on to win.
Meanwhile, Coral has extended its sponsorship of the Coral-Eclipse at Surrey’s Sandown Park racecourse by a further five years. The Group 1 contest will now be run for a record £750,000 from this year, which represents an increase in prize money of £250,000 from 2017.
Coral’s partnership with the race and Sandown Park has spanned 43 years. This year’s Coral-Eclipse Day will be held on July 7.
