Portuguese Primeira Liga football club Benfica has signed a sponsorship deal with menswear brand Inimigo Clothing.
The length of the deal was not disclosed but it begins with the 2018-19 season. Inimigo will serve as the official fashion partner of the Lisbon-based club.
As part of the deal, Inimigo has designed a range of formal wear for Benfica players and club employees, as well as a casual range exclusively for players.
Hélder Brito, creative director for Inimigo, said: “Benfica has already proven through other sponsorships that, through its most diverse means, it manages to impact the market and translate that communication into sales.
“This is what we are looking for through a brand with a high level of worldwide recognition such as Benfica: on the one hand, we will provide a bolder image through the new clothes that players and staff will use and, on the other, we will benefit from this image that will be transmitted on a global level.”
