Canada-based multinational financial services company Scotiabank has entered into a multi-year partnership with Spanish LaLiga football club Barcelona.
The deal names Scotiabank as Barcelona’s official banking partner in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Under the agreement, the winners of the Campeonato Scotiabank Fútbol Club competition from several countries and local selected teams will be invited to attend training events in Barcelona.
Scotiabank will also organise a four-day FutbolNet Festival event in six Latin American or Caribbean markets in which it operates. The events will focus on developing the football and life skills of young people.
In addition, Scotiabank customers will benefit from tickets and other football experiences.
“FC Barcelona wants to continue to grow and the partnership with Scotiabank will allow us to do so,” Manel Arroyo, vice-president of marketing and communications at Barcelona, said. “This is the first partnership signed by our New York office since it opened in September and I am sure there will be more, which will allow us to remain the club with the most followers in the world.”
Scotiabank also serves as the official bank of Concacaf, the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Football.
