Spanish Liga football club Barcelona has extended its partnerships with South African firm Castle Brewery and Catalonia-based cava producer Freixenet.
Barcelona signed its first commercial partnership with an African-based company when it agreed its initial three-year deal with Castle Brewery in July 2013.
The partnership positioned the firm’s Castle Lager brand as the official beer for any activity that Barcelona engaged in across key markets on the African continent. Barcelona said the agreement has now been extended to include the Nigerian and Kenyan markets, although terms of the new contract were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the agreement with Freixenet to be the club’s official cava has been extended until 2016.
