Spanish Liga football club Barcelona has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with PepsiCo’s sports nutrition drink Gatorade.
The agreement takes effect immediately and runs through to the 2015-16 season.
The Liga champion will provide exposure of Gatorade’s products at the Nou Camp stadium and news conferences as well as on the club’s official website.
Gatorade, which has an extensive association with sport in North America and is increasingly prominent in Europe, will also offer Barcelona access to the company’s laboratory and testing facilities at the Gatorade Sports Science Institute, which will provide support for the club’s players.
Barcelona vice-president Javier Faus said: “This agreement strengthens our sponsorship programme with one of the most important global brands in the sporting field and is a further step into America, one of the most important strategic territories for the club, where Barcelona has an immense supporter base.”
