Spanish Liga football club Barcelona has extended its sponsorship deal with Catalan beer brand Estrella Damm through to the end of the 2017-18 season.
Under the agreement, the Barcelona-based brewer will remain a premium partner and official beer of the club. Barcelona’s premium partners sit on the second tier of its commercial roster and also include Audi, Beko and La Caixa.
Barcelona said the deal grants Estrella Damm rights covering “most of the world.” The brand will continue to exclusively sponsor the video line-up announcements at the Camp Nou at the start of each game, as well as hold the naming rights to the Festa del Gamper pre-season competition. Estrella Damm will also name each game’s man of the match.
The new deal also means Estrella Damm will continue to sponsor the Camp Nou Lounge – which is situated in the stadium’s main stand during the summer months and both parties have agreed to organise further events to strengthen the links between them and the club’s supporters. Previously the ‘Viu el Barça com a casa’ campaign saw Estrella Damm invite six fans to their VIP box at the Copa del Rey final, accompanied by ex-Barcelona player Luis Garcia.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu said: “We are honoured and very satisfied to continue to be connected to Damm, a company we share many historic links with as two Catalan organisations with more than a hundred years of history behind us both, who share the same values. We have been travelling companions for many years now and we hope to stay together for a long time to strengthen our common global commitments.”
