Sportswear manufacturer Kooga has entered into a partnership with rugby union invitational team the Barbarians.
The three-year deal, which names Kooga the official worldwide licensee for the Barbarians, will cover the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
As part of the deal, Kooga will develop the Barbarians’ new kit, which will be worn for the first time during the match against South Africa at London’s Wembley Stadium on November 5.
Kooga, which replaces casual and formal clothing brand Cotton Traders as the Barbarians’ kit supplier, will also provide the team with training and leisure wear.
Anthony Egan, Kooga sales director, said: “This is an outstanding agreement for Kooga and we’re extremely excited about working with the Barbarians who are an iconic and widely recognisable name within the world of rugby. It’s a sign that Kooga are firmly established as an important brand within the rugby market. The Barbarians are a great addition to our portfolio of clubs alongside Leicester Tigers and the Scarlets.”
