The Bangladesh Cricket Board has agreed a wide-ranging sponsorship deal with Impress Matra Consortium.
The two-year deal will run until August 31, 2018. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, although it has been widely reported that the deal will net the BCB almost TK170m (€1.9m/$2.2m).
As part of the agreement, IMC will receive rights to a host of properties including series naming and in-stadium branding.
“Initially 12 companies showed their interest and from them we chose three best companies from where Impress Matra got the rights as the highest bidder,” Kazi Inam Ahmed, BCB director and chairman of the marketing and commercial committee, told the Daily Star newspaper. “As our team is doing well, we have got a better amount this time. This is 40 per cent higher from last two years deal although we have less home matches in the coming years.”
Following the signing of the deal, IMC awarded title sponsorship rights for Bangladesh’s upcoming one-day international series against Afghanistan to financial services company Dutch Bangla Bank Limited. The series, which begins on Saturday, will officially be titled the Rocket Dutch-Bangla Bank Mobile Banking Series.
