Dutch software company AFAS has signed a long-term extension to its partnership with the country’s Eredivisie football club AZ Alkmaar.
The two parties’ agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will run for a further six seasons until the summer of 2022. AFAS will remain the club’s main sponsor as part of the deal.
The company will continue to serve as AZ’s shirt sponsor and will retain naming rights to the club’s AFAS Stadion home ground, as well as its training complex. AFAS will also continue to support AZ’s youth academy.
Bas van der Veldt, chief executive of AFAS, said: “With the contract extension we want to send a strong signal. We have confidence in the policy for the future and the financial policy of the club. AZ is financially healthy and in control. Many other clubs can take it as an example.”
AFAS has been a partner of the club for six years.
