The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), the governing body of the men’s game, has renewed its partnership with French tennis equipment manufacturer Tecnifibre.
The extended three-year deal will run through to 2020. The agreement sees Tecnifibre continue as a silver partner of the ATP World Tour.
The Paris-based manufacturer will continue to produce the official racquet, string, bag and accessories of the World Tour, and will remain a silver partner of the ATP World Tour Finals as well as the official stringing service of the tournament.
The partnership will see the continuation of the ‘On the Road’ to the ATP World Tour programme, including the Young Guns promotional initiative.
The programme focuses on player performance and harnesses social media engagement to allow fans to follow young players’ progress on the ATP World Tour. Russia’s Daniil Medvedev won this year’s Young Guns initiative after breaking into the top 100 of the ATP rankings.
“Tecnifibre looks to develop internationally and the ATP is a worldwide platform,” Tecnifibre managing director Pierre Bayssat said. “In addition, our ‘On the Road’ programme complements the vision of the ATP. It is a partnership which allows us to add value to our products and which gives us unique opportunities for brand content. It was therefore logical to extend the partnership.”
Tecnifibre first partnered with the ATP in 2013.
