Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas Pharma has extended a sponsorship agreement with golf’s PGA Tour.
The new deal will run for five years, from 2016 through to the end of 2020.
Under the deal, Astellas will continue to support two Tour initiatives, both of which are sponsored by Myrbetriq – the PGA Tour Volunteer Challenge and the tour’s Must-See Moments campaign.
The Volunteer Challenge is a competition designed to raise funds for charities while recognising the talent, passion and commitment of more than 100,000 tour volunteers, while the Must-See Moments campaign engages fans with video highlights of events through multimedia channels.
“Astellas is proud to partner with the PGA Tour as both organisations share a deep commitment to the power of volunteerism,” said Walt Johnston, vice-president of marketing for Astellas Pharma US. “We are honoured to be part of the PGA Tour’s philanthropic legacy by donating more than $1m (€930,000) to tournament charities over the course of the sponsorship and collaborating on this unique opportunity to give back to the communities where we work and live.”
