German financial services company Allianz has entered into a partnership with the Formula E electric car-racing series.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, names Allianz as an official partner of Formula E.
The company will also take on naming rights to the Allianz eVillage entertainment area, through which it will develop immersive fan experiences in association with Formula E.
Starting with the Mexico City ePrix on April 1, the Allianz eVillage will showcase new concepts and futuristic technologies to fans.
Allianz will also benefit from brand exposure on the Formula E show car, with its logo to feature on the cockpit top and rear-wing end plate areas of the vehicle.
In addition, Allianz logos will be visible during the Roborace, the driverless electric race series that takes place on Formula E city street circuits.
“We believe that now is the time to engage in the development of new ecosystems defining the future of urban mobility in a sustainable way,” Jean-Marc Pailhol, head of group market management and distribution at Allianz SE, said.
“What better way than to partner with Formula E which not only brings the discussion to metropolitan cities around the global but also adds the excitement of fully electric racing. We are particularly excited to host the Allianz Explorer Zone in the Allianz eVillage which allows the visitors to get in touch with the latest digital technology such as 3D printing, drone technology, and virtual reality.”
