Temporary power provider Aggreko has agreed a deal to support this year’s Ryder Cup golf event, which will take place in France from September 25-30.
This year’s event will mark the seventh time that Aggreko has been appointed by the Ryder Cup to power the tournament. The company has already agreed a similar deal for the 2022 tournament in Rome, Italy.
Aggreko joins Nestle, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, JCDecaux, Accor Hotels, Moet Hennessy and Mouton Cadet as official suppliers of the 2018 Ryder Cup. As part of the deal, a team of 38 Aggreko workers will be on-site at Paris’ Le Golf National course for up to six months.
Aggreko will power all facilities at Le Golf National, including catering, hospitality, fan screens and the Grand Stand. It will also provide 35 heat pump chillers and almost 2,000 light fittings, as well as support a number of tournaments in the run-up to the Ryder Cup.
Aggreko last year signed a long-term partnership with the European Tour, with the deal covering a minimum of 12 tournaments per year until 2023.
The Ryder Cup is contested by representative teams from the US and Europe. This year's tournament will see the US seeking to defend the title it won in 2016 in Chaska, Minnesota.
