Adelaide United goes green with sponsorship deals

Australian A-League football team Adelaide United has sealed a pair of sponsorship deals promoting environmental sustainability.

French multi-national company Veolia, a specialist in waste and energy management and sustainable water supply, has secured Adelaide’s front-of-shirt branding for the 2013-14 season.

Adelaide United chief executive Glenn Elliott said: “Veolia’s practices are renowned, they are a global and local leader in environmental services, and as a side note they are also a major sponsor of French club FC Lyon, so it puts us in elite company. In securing Veolia as our ‘front of shirt’ sponsor, we are marketing an iconic brand with its national presence. It is a breakthrough announcement for our club.”

Clean Energy Enterprises released its right to the club’s shirt sponsorship, allowing Veolia to step in, but the solar power company will promote its Solarshop brand on the front of United’s shorts for the next two seasons.
