Taiwanese electronics company Acer has extended its backing of the ShopRite LPGA Classic golf tournament as part of its wide-ranging partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
Acer will continue to serve as the presenting partner for the event, which will retain its official title of the ShopRite LPGA Classic Presented by Acer. The 2017 event will mark Acer’s fifth year in a row as presenting sponsor.
Acer will benefit from on-course branding during the event, which will take place from May 29 to June 4 at the Stockton Seaview Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey in the US.
In February, Acer renewed its partnership with the LPGA for the 2016 season, and the two parties will team up again next year on the #AcedIt social media campaign, which awards one fan with an Aspire Switch laptop for every hole-in-one recorded during each tournament.
The winner of next year’s ShopRite LPGA Classic will be awarded a state-of-the-art Acer computing system and a share of the $1.5m (€1.4m) prize purse. Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist (pictured) is the defending champion.
