Hotel group Accor has expanded its association with cycling’s Tour de France under a new three-year deal.
Accor has backed the ‘grand tour’ since 2006 and will now sponsor the 2015, 2016 and 2017 editions.
Having previously promoted its ibis budget hotels, the new terms also take in Accor’s ibis and ibis styles brands. They will benefit from extensive visibility opportunities in association with the race, including a presence on LED displays.
There are 850 ibis locations in France and numerous others in mainland European destinations such as the Netherlands and Belgium. The 2015 Tour de France begins on July 4 in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
Last month, Accor reached a three-year agreement to serve as an official supplier to the French Open tennis grand slam at Roland-Garros – France's other major annual summer sporting showpiece.
