Italian Serie A football club AC Milan has agreed a 10-year extension to its long-running kit partnership with Adidas.
The two parties have been partners since 1998 and the current deal was due to run for a further four years. However, under the terms of the new contract the association will now run until 2023.
German sportswear giant Adidas will now continue alongside Emirates, Sky Italia and Mediaset as one of Milan’s main commercial partners.
The club said the new deal will include the development of additional digital media initiatives.
The latest result of the collaboration between the two brands is the miCoach Elite System. Presented last February at Milan’s training complex Milanello, the data-tracking system started development in 2010 in association with MilanLab – the club’s interdisciplinary scientific research centre.
The system provides coaches, trainers and players with real-time performance metrics including heart rate, speed, acceleration, distance, field position and power.
