Yankees link up with fitness firm

Global fitness franchise Orangetheory Fitness has entered into a partnership with North American Major League Baseball team the New York Yankees.

Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it was confirmed that the company will become the official fitness centre sponsor of the Yankees.

Orangetheory will receive LED signage inside the team’s Yankee Stadium ballpark, while current and former Yankees players will take part in a number of promotional appearances for the company.

Scott Breault, director of marketing at Orangetheory, said: “Of our current 300,000-plus member base, many of them include Olympians, past and present, active athletes in all professional sports, including MMA and boxing, and many amateur teams that send their athletes to us to get them into top physical condition.

“The New York Yankees are arguably the most storied professional sports franchise in the world and the perfect partner to continue our association with elite organisations.”
