The Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) has confirmed that Yamaha Financial Services will be the main event sponsor for the motorcycling series’ opening race weekend in Australia later this month.
The 2016 season-opener takes place at the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit in the state of Victoria from February 26-28 and will take on the official title of the Yamaha Finance Australian Round.
Under the agreement, the financial services and insurance group will receive advertising exposure through WorldSBK’s television network over the course of the weekend.
Fergus Cameron, managing director of the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit, said: “Our track seems to deliver the fastest, closest racing on the planet and now with the backing of YFS, we can add further resources and impetus to the WorldSBK weekend.”
