New Zealand-based sportswear brand Canterbury has signed a kit deal with English county cricket club Worcestershire.
The three year deal runs from the 2015 season – which is Worcestershire’s 150th anniversary year – until the end of the 2017 campaign.
Canterbury’s cricket presence includes partnerships with the New Zealand and Scotland national teams.
Worcestershire’s county commercial director Jon Graham cited his team’s promotion to Division One of the County Championship, the rebranding of its limited overs team to Worcestershire Rapids and all-rounder Moeen Ali’s successful breakthrough into the England national side as factors that encouraged Canterbury to make its approach.
During its pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi, Worcestershire will wear special kits to commemorate their former team-mate Phillip Hughes, who died after being hit by a ball during a match in his native Australia last November.
