English County Championship cricket club Warwickshire has agreed a sponsorship deal with brewing company Molson Coors.
The five-year deal runs until 2022 and names Molson Coors’ Carling brand as the official lager of the club. Carling, along with Coors Light and Staropramen lagers, will be served at Warwickshire’s Edgbaston home ground as part of the agreement.
Molson Coors has also been given a naming-rights opportunity to the Stanley Barnes Stand at Edgbaston, while the company will benefit from perimeter branding and hospitality packages for major and international cricket matches at the stadium.
James Harrison, trading director at Molson Coors, said: “The vote of confidence in our business model is particularly pleasing and we feel that its popularity is largely down to its insight driven approach and the fact it puts the needs of the customer first.”
Edgbaston will host England’s first-ever day-night Test match against the West Indies in August and is also scheduled to stage five matches during the Champions Trophy event, which runs from June 1-18.
