US sportswear company Warrior has expanded its presence in the European football market by agreeing to become the new kit partner of leading Portuguese Primeira Liga club FC Porto.
Terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Warrior will replace US rival Nike, which has held a contract with Porto for the past 14 years, from the 2014-15 season.
The DN.pt website said Porto received €14.8m ($20.3m) over the duration of its most recent four-year deal with Nike, adding that the Warrior contract will be more lucrative for the club.
Warrior has been increasing its hold in European football with its most recent significant partnership coming in March, when it added Stoke City to its existing deal with rival English Premier League club Liverpool.
Porto finished third in the Primeira Liga last season, 13 points behind champion Benfica.
