US sporting goods manufacturer Warrior has entered into a three-year partnership with the Alliance of European Hockey Clubs (EHC).
As part of the agreement, the two parties have introduced an annual award to promote the club game in Europe and manifest their commitment to sustainability and good values within the sport.
The Warrior of the Year award will be given to the player who best exemplifies sportsmanship and dedication, as well as community service and involvement and a high standard of playing ability.
The inaugural winner of the award will be announced at the EHC European Hockey Awards dinner on June 12 in Prague, Czech Republic.
“Following our earlier partnership with the Champions Hockey League, the opportunity to also work together with the EHC Alliance furthermore underlines Warrior’s commitment to European club ice hockey,” Stuart Proud, international financial controller for Warrior Sports, said.
“After football, ice hockey is the second biggest spectator team sport in Europe and with this partnership we manifest principles which we feel should be associated with such a popular movement.”
The EHC was founded in June 2016 and currently has 81 member clubs from 13 European countries.
