Nestle-owned mineral water brand Vittel has extended its sponsorship of cycling’s Tour de France until 2018 after signing a new five-year deal with race organisers.
Vittel began its association with the Tour in 2008 and will continue to brand the distance boards informing riders how much of each stage is left during its last 25 kilometres.
This guarantees Vittel a presence visible to on-course spectators and the Tour’s global television audience.
Additionally, Vittel will distribute one million bottles of water to spectators and members of the media during the race.
Nestle first signed up as a club partner of the Tour in 2001 to promote its Aquarel brand. It last renewed in July 2009 for four years, from 2010 to 2013, to promote Vittel, which replaced Aquarel as the Tour’s official water supplier in 2008.
