US sportswear provider Under Armour has agreed a three-year deal to become the new official technical-wear partner of English Premiership rugby union team Worcester Warriors.
The agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will run until the end of the 2018-19 Premiership season.
As part of the deal, Under Armour will design and develop the Warriors’ training wear and matchday performance apparel. The agreement also covers the team’s Three Pears Warriors academy squads.
“To attract a brand of this size and calibre shows the progress the club have made since returning to the top-flight last season,” Warriors chief executive Jim O’Toole said.
"This partnership is the first of many we hope to announce in the next few months as we aim to build our partnership portfolio off the field to back up the excellent work that (Warriors director of rugby) Dean Ryan and his team are creating on the field.”
Worcester is currently 10th in the Premiership ahead of its home game against Wasps tomorrow (Saturday). Under Armour will succeed Kooga as the club’s kit partner.
