US sportswear provider Under Armour has entered into a multi-year partnership with the Coastal Carolina University.
The agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will become effective on July 1 and names Under Armour the official outfitter of the university’s 19 varsity sports teams. According to the Sun News newspaper, the two parties have agreed a seven-year deal.
Under Armour will supply on-field and training wear for the university’s 460 student-athletes, as well as coaches and staff. As part of the deal, the company’s brand marketing campaigns will be promoted through print and venue exposure at the university.
Under Armour’s agreement with Coastal Carolina will mark the first time the facility’s athletics department has had one apparel provider for its entire sports programme. The university’s agreement with fellow US sportswear provider Russell Athletic expires this summer.
Under Armour has so far this year added Howard University, the University of California, Berkeley and Yale University to its extensive portfolio of college partnerships.
