European football’s governing body Uefa has announced a new format for its senior women’s international competitions, with a new Nations League that will provide the qualifying teams for the women’s Euros, Olympics and Fifa Women’s World Cup.

The changes are designed to introduce more competition throughout the women’s international game and have been developed by a national team competitions working group comprising representatives from different national associations, following a recommendation of the Uefa women’s football committee.
