Turkish Airlines has agreed a three-year extension to its title sponsorship of the European Tour golf tournament held in its home country.
Turkey’s national flag carrier airline will continue to back the Turkish Airlines Open across the 2016 to 2018 editions of the event.
The Turkish Airlines Open has been played annually since 2013. This year’s event begins today (Thursday) at the Montgomerie Maxx Royal golf club in the city of Antalya.
It was also announced today that the Turkish Airlines Open will be hosted by the Carya Golf Club, also situated near Antalya, for the next three years.
Ahmet Bolat, executive vice-president of Turkish Airlines, said: “Turkish Airlines is committed to supporting golf across the world, but in particular in Turkey. That is why it is so heartening to see Turkey’s golf offering develop over the time we have been supporting the sport.”
In addition to the Turkish Airlines Open the company also sponsors the Turkish Airlines Challenge, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, the Turkish Airlines Ladies Masters, and is a premium partner of the European Open.
