Turkish Airlines has agreed a two-year deal to become the title sponsor of Japanese basketball competition the BJ-League.
Financial terms for the agreement were not disclosed, although Turkish Airlines’ branding has been incorporated into a new BJ-League logo.
The partnership enhances Turkish Airlines’ established presence in basketball.
In October 2013, the company agreed a five-year extension with Euroleague Basketball to its title sponsorship of the Euroleague continental club competition. That deal was an extension to the current contract which ends in 2015. The new deal will run through 2020 and means the airline will have held the naming rights to Europe’s premier basketball competition for a decade at its conclusion.
Turkish Airlines also boasts NBA star Kobe Bryant as a brand ambassador and its new association with the BJ-League will commence when the 10th season of the competition gets under way on October 4.
